Comet Pin

I thought this pin looked like a shooting star, so I stamped "wish" on the back of the bezel. I think the rock is fossilized coral. Or maybe its a moon rock or a meteorite...
Sterling and steel $75.00

More Necklaces

This photo is not the greatest. I was getting these necklaces tagged to bring to the Co-op, and thought I would take a quick shot. It's been awhile since I posted.
Anyway, I really like all of these pieces. The necklace on the bottom is steel with recycled glass beads that were made in Africa. I like the look of the beads with my work, so will continue to use them as accents. I found a source where I can order direct from the artist, which I think is pretty cool. It was fun to track the package! I digress again. The steel necklace sells for $30.00.
The necklace in the middle combines steel spirals with a bezel set rock and glass beads. $125.00
The necklace on the top has a bezel set rock and glass beads. $95.00
All three are strung on leather cords(16") with hand crafted(by me) sterling clasps.

Landscape in Metal Pendant

With a Sedona red rock and a rock I found in Jerome, this pendant is an awesome Arizona landscape! It is 2.5" wide and 1.75" high and hangs on an 18" snake chain. Weighing in at over an ounce of silver! $250.00

Stacking Rings

These satin finished sterling silver rings are nice by themselves, or way cool with a few stacked together. I wear four gold ones stacked, and have for years. In silver, they're $40.00 for one ring. I haven't priced gold recently, but they would probably be around $250.00-$275 each. I'm amazed at the high cost of gold! Each ring is about 2mm wide.
Not the best photo, but you can get an idea of how they look when stacked together.

Necklace

I found this rock in Kodiak, AK a long time ago when my sister Cathy was living there. I really like the way this piece turned out. The forged steel looks very cool with the matte finished silver. The necklace is about 18" long, and the rock is close to 1 1/2" wide. The steel pieces are attached to silver snake chain with a hand crafted clasp. $175.00

bracelet

This linked bracelet feels really nice when wearing. The jump rings all lay flat around the wrist. 7.5" long, $90.00. Steel spirals with sterling links and clasp.

steel spiral earringsFSSPE-JR

These earrings are a little longer than the original steel spirals, with assorted beads(I've shown two) and a jump ring dangle. Lots of good movement. $35.00

Landscape Necklace

I made the square frame awhile ago, but wasn't inspired to finish it until this morning. I think it looks very cool, and I can picture a series of "landscapes". This piece is 1 and 3/4" square. It has a nice weight to it, and hangs on a sterling snake chain that adjusts from 18-22", with a hand crafted clasp. On the back I stamped APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY IN ALL THINGS. $225.00

Heart Necklace-FSHPD1SM

The extreme close up makes this heart look huge, but it's only about an inch across. Strung on a 16" leather cord with a hand crafted sterling clasp, the heart is recycled steel with a wax coating to prevent rust. I have issues with commercially made clasps, so I make all of my clasps myself. One of my little Virgo things. These are only $22.00!

Find your Way to Peace Pendant

I've got to figure out how to get clearer photos. They seem to be in focus, but the soft look of the satin finish makes the pieces look blurry.
Anyway, this pendant is sterling silver on an 18" snake chain. My intention was to combine the peace sign with a sun motif, but when it was finished, it looked more like a compass rose to me. That's where the title came from. It's about an inch and a quarter in diameter. $95.00

Red Rock Pendant-BSRPD2-SP

I found this rock in a dry creek bed in Sedona right off Chavez Ranch Rd. It's on the way to Crescent Moon Ranch, where I take all the pictures of Cathedral Rock. It is set in sterling and comes with a 16" chain. The pendant itself is about 2" long. The word 'LOVE' is stamped on the back. $80.00

WSRE2-BD EARRINGS

These earrings are crafted in sterling, out of square and rectangle wire. Each little triangle has been sawed out of rectangle wire, and soldered on to the square wire. I then file and sand the whole piece until all the seams have disappeared. So, the work looks very simple, but actually is pretty labor intensive. About 1.25 in long, these sell for $55.00, or $50.00 without the beads.

Earrings

Last week I was accepted into the Tempe Arts Fest. It is a huge show at the beginning of December. I am working on more designs for that now. These earrings are about 2 and 1/2" long. The top part is steel, and the spiral is sterling. I like the look of the two metals together. I have tons of different colored beads for accents. These sell for $36.00.

Necklaces

I am doing a lot of new work right now, trying to come up with designs that incorporate silver and steel. The choker above is strung on a 15" leather cord and has a hand made sterling clasp. SOLD

I kind of like the contrast between the rustic feeling steel and silver chain, and the clean and contemporary goddess pendant attached to the chain. I'm working on different pendants to go on the chain. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Rock Goddess

This pendant is sterling silver with a Sedona Red Rock and a Lake Michigan beach rock. Stamped on the back is Rock Goddess. She is about 3" long, and hangs on a 20" sterling snake chain with a hand crafted clasp. $175.00 Have I mentioned that all the pieces shown on this blog are available to purchase?

steel hearts

OMG are these cute or what?! After I made the small spirals, I had to try some hearts. They are about 7/8" wide, and probably a little over an inch long. $28.00

Thursday, May 15, 2008

I'm having fun with the small steel stock. I think it was a kind of hardware cloth or something. It's got a nice little texture on it that shows up sometimes on the front of the pieces. This little spiral is strung on a sterling snake chain that's about 15 inches long. A perfect choker length. $42.00.
I also strung some on a 15"ish ball chain. A little more casual and only $32.00! On a leather cord they are $22.00.

I'm practicing my welding skills with small stock as well. I think this tribal looking piece came out pretty nice. It's strung on a leather cord (about 17") with a hand crafted sterling hook clasp. $28.00

Forged Steel Spiral Pendants

I always try to use scrap metal, but sometimes I have to buy round stock for these pendants. They are strung on waxed cotton cord, and are adjustable by pulling the knots apart at the back. I always assort the beads. Most of the beads are from Africa, and are crafted from recycled glass. $20.00

Forged Steel Spiral Earrings

I'm totally excited to be making steel and sterling earrings! These spirals are 7.8" in diameter by 1.5" long. Those are measured dimensions. The post below this one has approximates before I actually measured them :) $28.00

Forged Steel Spiral Earrings

I found some scrap steel in the 'stable' here that's the perfect size for earrings! So the sprial is forged, recycled steel, the beads are recycled coke bottles(made in Africa), and the earwires are sterling silver. The spirals are about an inch in diameter, with the total length about 2". $28.00.

PEACE, LOVE, SUNSHINE

This necklace contains a Sedona Red Rock set in sterling as a focal point, with glass bead accents, all strung on a brown leather cord with a hand made sterling clasp. The words PEACE LOVE SUNSHINE are stamped on the back of the sun. Also available with a beach rock or black leather cord. $95.00

forged steel heart

These forged steel hearts are available as necklaces or keychains. I accent them with various types of glass beads, including antique and recycled glass beads from Africa. They are coated with wax to preserve the finish, and strung on waxed cotton cord. The necklace is adjustable. $20.00. Keychains are $18.00

Sun Moon Earrings

These sterling earrings are about 1.25 inches long. I fabricate the shapes with square wire, sawing it on the diagonal for the sun rays and soldering them all together. I could easily have someone cast them for me, but where would the fun in that be? The black rings are anodized aluminum. Available in other colors including all silver and silver with gold filled rings. $48.00

Sun and Moon Bracelet

This linked bracelt is about a half an inch wide. Nice scale for every day wear. Sterling silver with beach rocks that vary in color from black to almost white, with shades of grays and tans in between. I have stamped the words PEACE LOVE JOY on the back. $175.00. May be customized with small words of your choice(longer words wouldn't fit).

Handcrafted jewelry

This linked bracelet is Sterling silver with Sedona Red Rocks. I stamped various adjectives on the back of each stone. The bracelet is currently at the Jerome Artist's Coop, so I don't remember exactly which words I used, but it was something like-LIVE LOVE LAUGH DREAM CREATE. This piece sells for $250.00. I can customize one for you with the words of your choice.
This pendant is on a 20" sterling chain and has 'LOVE ROCKS' stamped on the back. Sterling silver, Sedona Red Rock, and a Kodiak, AK Black Rock. It sells for $95.00
Soon I will have a PayPal button for purchasing online, but for now, please contact me for purchasing info. THANKS!
